Kancho NOOO!!!!

I was talking to my friend on MSN, when he announced he'd found a website for me. hahaha~recently this guy kept giving me links to some of the website he'd been looking at, and I thought they were pretty geeky, hahaha~all computer stuff and really geeeeekky~~~ so I was surprized when it was about this guy who was doing a JET programme (pretty much this thing where you get payed to teach English in Japan). Anyway, this guy writes these 'editorials' about his time in Japan (He's still there).

go here please~~:::: http://outpostnine.com/editorials/teacher.html

This guy writes very well, and there is a lot of very interesting things to read. But mst of them are funny, extreamly, undeniable funny.

He writes about the horrors of Kancho, a horrible Japanese kids 'game' where the children stick their fingers up your butt. Here's the Kancho NO! website.

hahahaha~ so funny, anyway, this guy's site certainly deserves a place in my bookmarks!

Voting Clarification/Ideas.

I updated the Voting rules in the post about the contest. I have some more ideas:

I will make a Contest Submissions page and link to member submissions as they are posted.

I was thinking that after our deadline of Feb. 14 we could have two days (until midnight Feb. 16 - Feb. 17 Pacific Time) to vote. You could also vote early.

What do you think?

Header/Logo Contest

We are looking for a new header/logo for our blog. Something artistic and fun that expresses our blog. Stephen's header and Sudman's are examples of headers that look fine with our template.

Rules:

  1. Only members of 2 Lazy 2 Blog can submit entries. Anyone can vote on a submission.

  2. Multiple submissions are OK.

  3. The artwork must be your own or that which you have permission to use. For example: photos with a creative commons (Share alike) licence.

  4. The header must look fine at different resolutions. For example I use 800x600 most of the time. I would say 610x150 is a good size to work with. Your art may be bigger but may be resized.

  5. Any graphics or text may be used as long as '2 Lazy 2 Blog' is recognizable.

  6. Keep the pics clean. :)

  7. Only static pictures should be used. Animations can slow loading of the blog.

  8. email me the link to your submission. Anonymous submissions are fun!

  9. Optional: It would be nice if our motto could be included in the design. Either: "As Sam and Stephen say: we are '2 Lazy 4 A Real Motto'" or just '2 Lazy 4 A Real Motto'.

Deadline: Tuesday February 14, 2006.

Voting:

  • Members Vote = 4 points.

  • Friends (listed in sidebar) Vote = 2 points.

  • Other Votes = 1 point.

  • You may vote for more than one submission.

  • The submission with the most votes wins.

Prize: Fame and the cherished love of your fellow members. I will mention the winner on my blogs and other members may too. I could include a copy of my demo cd, but I was planning to send it to friends anyway.

What Time Is It?

Many of us have friends in different places and in different timezones. This website lets you know what the time is around the world.

New contributor, Shogun

For quite some time now I've been a friend of 2lazy2blog. So recently I decided I'd like to become one of the contributers, At first I thought I'd be too young and ttoo scared to post or something, but it's fine.

My name is Shogun (thus so because I wish not to disclose my real name to those who are not close friends -Shogun is my Japanese name.) I am 16 years old and I live in good ol' New Zealand.

I don't really want to write too much in this post, but I have been known for my tireingly long posts in my blog "This is Life: Through the eyes of Shogun" and sometimes my posts may seem a little intense. One of my friends said I am a good enough writer I should write a book or something. So I decided to make a fiction blog, of a 15 year old's life at "The Life and times of Felix Mason".

If any of you are interested in music (Which hopefuklly you are), I Love music, my favourite singer being Ayumi Hamasaki, I even made a fansite (which Leon has posted once, but I'll post it again! ^____^) called "Ayu Meets World", The layout and the content etc. are all mine, I'm quite renound for my graphicalnessly, as you will see in my blog and in AMW. oooo, And also I love taking photos, I have some of them posted on my deviantart site but I still have heaps of photos I haven't edited and put on there yet (though I'll have to get around to doing that before the 2nd of February, where I have to take some to a teacher at school)

OMG, I so didn't mean to have an entire post about ME! I'm not usually so braggyful!!!

I'm sorry everyone >________<

Oh I forgotted, I know some Japanese, so I can teach some peoples if they wanting!!!!

that's it! honest!!!

The Legend of E.T.

I found this over at The Skinny. For those that are big into video games, you may have heard about the old E.T. game for the Atari 2600. Maybe you even heard something about them dumping the leftover copies of the game in a landfill because of how bad it was. I remember reading about that somewhere a number of years ago. Anyway, here's a cool music video for the band, Wintergreen (who I never heard of until now), that involves that game.

Fake Blog? --- Valse Blog?

In December I mentioned a blog The Life of Mathew Knightly. I also commented on the blog.

In January the blog seemed different and less believable. The blog also had new member called Sigi. I followed links and checked out Sigi's blogs. I saw a list of the Mock Blogs he maintains. One of them was "Mathew's".

All the links are now changed and "Sigi" has changed his name to "Bizarre.petroglyph". I have some evidence I can post if necessary.

A "mock blog" is a pretend blog. It is made to look real. I think this blogger is doing it to practise his writing and not to be malicious. I am mentioning this because "Mathew" has been commenting on blogs linked in our sidebar. Some of these blogs are written by kids.

If the blog is fake, and the blogger is legitimate, I don't think he should be carrying the charade so far that he is deceiving children on the internet.

---------

Up in the Sky!!

I posted this on my blog too, but figured I'd spread it around a little more. It's an old Superman cartoon from 1941. I used to watch these back when I was a little kid and can actually remember this exact one. So I hope everybody likes it. Here's the link... Superman: The Mechanical Monsters.

Linking

Linking can be fun in Blogger. You have to watch what information you put into the pop up box.

Steve I edited your link in your intro. You had an extra word in there that broke the url.

Yor blog is called Ride Fast, Live Slow and your url is http://www.shox101.blogspot.com.

You can link it like this:

http://www.shox101.blogspot.com

or like this:

Ride Fast, Live Slow.

Just copy the url, highlight the word(s) you want to link, and paste the url into the pop up box.

Many people like using words as links rather than bare urls.

This is what the code looks like:

(a href="http://www.shox101.blogspot.com/")Ride Fast, Live Slow(/a) replace the () with <>.
